Goodbye the the State Fair Spiral of Life

Had a great run at the Ohio State Fair with my Spiral of Life Installation. Disappointed to not get any awards at the Fair, but did get lots of exposure for my art.

Took me about three days to set up the Spiral at the State Fair Exhibition and 2 hours for my husband Doug and I to take it down and put it away into the four boxes that it came in!

 Have to thank my husband Doug for all his help with the take down...

All gone....

Everything almost fit into the four boxes...just had to adjust things a little when I got home...

A Visit to the Fair

We visited the fair....I just love to watch people experience my artwork!

 I discovered that there are cards with questions on them about my artwork for kids and parents!

 My family came to see my artwork too!

Everyone can view my "Spiral of Life Installation in the Cox Fine Arts Building at the Ohio State Fair now through Aug. 9 It is close the the 11th Street Entrance to the Fair (where the large OHIO entrance is).

Ohio State Fair Opening

The opening for the Fine Arts Exhibition at the Ohio State Fair was last night. I was very disappointed to discover that I didn't receive any awards for my installation. However I soon realized that the prime spot for my installation in the Exhibition was award enough! I really enjoyed standing by and watching people react to my artwork!

 My installation was right in front of the band!

Ohio State Fair

Wanted to let everyone know that the State Fair begins July 29 and goes through Aug. 9.

The opening for the Fine Arts Exhibition is the night before the opening day:

July 28 from 6-8pm 

(I believe that there is a nominal fee to get into the opening)

Hope everyone will come to see the spiral in person either at the fair or opening night.  

The fine arts exhibition is in the Cox Fine Arts Center and my Spiral installation in is the center of the building.

New Spiral of Life 2015

Spiral of Life Installation II

June 2015 my Spiral of Life installation and one other found object, from the original Spiral of Life Show, were selected to be a part of the Fine Arts Exhibition at the Ohio State Fair. I was so excited and proud to be selected as part of the exhibition. At the end of June 2015 I spent three days setting up a new Spiral of Life in the Cox Fine Arts Center on the Ohio State Fair Grounds.

 It is right next to the "Ohio" entrance off 11th Ave.

 The installation took three days of work to finish. I began on a Friday and finished on a Monday. I worked about 5 hours on Friday and Saturday and about 3 hours on each Sunday and Monday. That makes a total of about 16 hours of work! Fortunately it was raining the first two days, because there is no air conditioning in the building. Sunday and Monday it was really hot when the rain stopped. The installation was set up a whole month before the Ohio State Fair was to begin. I just hope every thing in the installation will stay in place by the time the fair begins!

This is the other piece that was chosen to be part of the exhibition. It is quite small compared to the installation. Funny how I got one large and one small piece of artwork into the exhibit!
